As we prepare to come out of lockdown we look forward to welcoming Seher Khan for an online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy workshop, focused on helping you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them into smaller parts.
This talking therapy is most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems too. CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feeling, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle.
In this workshop you will be shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel. Unlike some other talking treatments, CBT deals with your current problems, rather than focusing on the issues form your past and looks for practical ways to improve your state of mind on a daily basis.
In a virtual format, Seher will go through the principles of CBT, explain what thought distortions are and look at what our core beliefs might be that result in the beliefs that cause anxiety.
