Adventure: Jumanji (Joe Johnston, 1995)
Released in 1995 Jumanji remains one of the best adventure, family films out there. Fun, exciting and scary at times. If you haven't seen it, this film will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end. If you have seen it, now is a great opportunity to rediscover it all over again. A must watch.
Biopic: Ray (Taylor Hackford, 2004)
Biopic on music legend Ray Charles. This film is compelling and beautifully written. We discover his life through his success, pain and addition and we also get to hear some of his most iconic songs. Jamie Foxx as Ray, renders an amazing performance that saw him win both a BAFTA and an Oscar for Best Actor 2005.
Romance: In The Mood For Love (Wong Kar-Wai, 2000)
Set in Hong Kong in the 1960's, In the mood for love tells the story of 2 spouses who suspect that their other halves are having an affair and form a special bond of their own. A beautiful and elegant love story with a gorgeous setting.
Crime/Mystery: Tell No One (Guillaume Canet, 2006)
After his wife is murdered by a serial killer Alex tries to build his life, but his past comes back to haunt him. This is an adaptation of a book by Harlan Coben. This French thriller is packed in mysteries and action and will keep you guessing until the end.
Comedy: Singing in the Rain (Gene Kelly / Stanley Donen, 1952)
This classic comedy starring Gene Kelly sees an actor trying to make the transition from silent to speaking films, is literally everything we need right now. It's fun, light and beautifully directed! A classic.
