Join us for the launch of the Upstairs Jazz Club, a brand-new monthly live music series taking place every second Thursday of the month, beginning 9 July. Expect an intimate evening of exceptional jazz and contemporary music featuring outstanding artists from London and beyond.

Our inaugural performance welcomes Omar, a Nicaraguan guitarist, composer and music educator now based in London. Having begun his musical journey at just 11 years old, Omar has built an international career spanning 19 years, performing across Nicaragua, Colombia, Russia, the United States, Belgium, Spain, Costa Rica, Honduras, Switzerland, Germany, Scotland and England.

His distinctive sound draws inspiration from flamenco, rock, jazz, fusion and Latin American music, creating a rich and expressive musical experience that transcends borders and genres.

Omar's debut instrumental album, Free Soul (2021), was recorded in Nicaragua and mixed and mastered in Japan. Since then, he has released two further albums, Aurora and The Art of Deep Connection, both recorded at Steve Winwood's renowned studios.

A respected figure on the London music scene, Omar collaborated with pianist Alex Wilson at the London Latin Jazz Festival and has performed at some of the capital's most prestigious venues, including PizzaExpress Live, Union Chapel, The Jazz Café, Hampton Court Palace and Aldourie Castle.
